The University of Mississippi community is mourning the tragic loss of freshman Gianna ‘Gigi’ Solimine, a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Gigi’s passing was announced by the sorority in a heartfelt statement, celebrating her life and the impact she had on those around her.
According to the statement shared on instagram, Gigi joined Alpha Chi Omega in the fall and quickly became an integral part of the sisterhood. Her vibrant personality, kind heart, and pure spirit left a lasting impression on her sorority sisters.
“It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of our sister, Gigi Solimine (Lambda Pi, University of Mississippi). Gigi was a freshman who joined Alpha Chi Omega this past fall. In her short time with us, she brought immense joy to our sisterhood,” the statement read.
The Alpha Chi Omega sorority remembered Gigi as a shining light who made the world a better place. Her passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
“The world was a better place with you in it, and we miss you dearly… Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with Gigi’s close friends and family during this difficult time,” the statement concluded.
